Protest against high tax increase on beer
The author uses simple words. The audience could understand the words easily. Since people from different background and knowledge read the paper, it is important the author uses day to day words. But the author didn’t use strong verbs. Such kind of letters that is used to influence people to protest politicians shall use strong verbs to get in to people’s mind and to get a substantial responses. And the letter is too long for people to read everything. It would have been better. If it was not more than a page. There is also reputation of the same ideas that can easily be explained in a single sentence.
The author arranged the article in small paragraph format. This makes it for readers to understand and deep breath between each paragraph and digest it. Each paragraph talks about a single and specific topic that make it easy to understand. He stress important words and use it at the beginning of a sentences.
The audience of the paper is beer drinkers. Since the age limit for beer drinking is 21 years of old, his audiences are adults. It looks like he is very much connected with the audience. His statements indicate he care about them and wanted to fight for them. He stressed the possibilities of changes that can be made promising if the people fight there will definitely be change. He stated since it is election year the senators will answer their question in favor of the people. This will definitely give hope the people to keep fighting. He mentioned the high increase of tax is not legitimate and unfair. He stated in many of the sentence that the problem is his and theirs by using the word “ours, we, and our” that could help him to connect himself with the audience. He also blamed the richest to connect himself with the majority of the people who will be worrying about paying too much tax.
